Accelerated M.S. in Epidemiology (GU Undergrads)
The accelerated (B.S. or B.A.)/M.S. in Epidemiology program offers a rigorous, interdisciplinary education in the science of epidemiology.
This accelerated program for motivated undergraduate students allows you to begin graduate-level coursework during your senior year, with all courses covered under your flat undergraduate tuition rate. You will complete the master’s degree in just two semesters instead of four, benefiting from tuition savings and a deeper expertise in epidemiology.
How to Apply
You are eligible for the accelerated program if you:
- Are a current candidate for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree at Georgetown University, with an overall GPA of 3.5
- Are in your junior year
- Have met the prerequisite courses:
- One semester of biology (any Georgetown biology course except for botany)
- One semester of calculus or statistics (MATH 1320, 1350, 1040 or 2140, or AP or transfer credits)
- Have the approval of your undergraduate dean
To apply for the accelerated master’s program, you must consult with your undergraduate dean, and with the M.S. in Epidemiology program director (email epidemiology@georgetown.edu). Then, submit an online application to the M.S. program. The final deadline for the M.S. application is July 1 after your third year in the School of Medicine.

Degree Plan
The accelerated degree program requires you to complete the 120 credits required to earn a Georgetown undergraduate degree and 34 credits for the M.S. in Epidemiology, with no break in between. You will begin taking M.S. credits during your senior year; you can count up to 6 credits for both your B.S./B.A. and M.S. degrees. After finishing your bachelor’s degree, you will take the remainder of the courses for your master’s degree.
